This has been my favourite tent so far, although my girlfriend finds it too large so now we use our other tent.

First of all the colour is brilliant, the same colour as my grandmas caravan when I was growing up, it's about as large as a small caravan too! I'm sure you could fit a transit van it it.

I'm 5'5' and couldn't reach the top of the tent inside the front area.

You can easily stand up inside the sleeping area.

I found this tent easy to put up on my own in about 15mins. The poles are really thick heavy duty ones and the pole sleeves are a lot roomier than other tents so you don't struggle trying to force the poles through, they just slide through with no need of an extra helping hand.

Also even though it is massive the front area has totally sewn in groundsheet which I love because it makes it more free of insects.

In really heavy rain it does tend to let in a little water and you do find little puddles around as the previous reviewer said I also don't know the reason for it and thought maybe it needed re-sealing at the seams. That said though we never got wet in the sleeping area and have been through some really long really strong storms in it.

When entertaining guests (which I rarely tend to do but on occasions friends come camping with us) and it's raining you can easily have six people sat in chairs around the edge in the front area with room to spare.

The sleeping area inner door can be completely zipped away leaving the mesh so you can lay on your bed watch the world go by and be insect free.

It's nice to have a side door as well as the front door although another door on the other side would be good also as mentioned by the previous reviewer.

All in all I love this tent because it served me well over a few years of camping, it was my first bigger tent and for two people it's a very good size.

I love camping when it's raining, (I love the rain in general) it's one of lifes greatest pleasures sat in a tent listening to the patter of rain while you read a good book.

That's why (although after a while it started leaking a small amount otherwise it would get ten out of ten) this tent is so good because the front living area is so spacious to while away the hours.

We had enough room down the sides for all our things and even cooked in there.

Bought this tent recently and took it away for the first time this weekend.

When we pitched it at home we followed the instructions to put all the poles in and then raise it from the bedroom end - took ages and was difficult to manhandle - forget that - put in the two long dome poles (making sure to put the underneath one in first) and then lift it using the underneath pole and pitch the dome. Then add the bedroom poles and peg out at the back. Took about 15 mins from start to finish.

There is only one inner tent and although its 5-man the hanging curtain divider that comes with it splits it 4+1 which is not much use really. We slept 4 of us in it with two small airbeds and two normal singles and it was full - don't think it would take 4 single airbeds, and certainly not 5 people unless you were on narrow mats.

The sewn in groundsheet made it quick to pitch, but as it doesn't 'drop' at the doors it will be hard to sweep out sand etc. There is no specific electric hookup entry, but easy enough to pop it in at the door.

Found having a door only on one-side restrictive when it came to choosing which way round to pitch on site. We didn't use the front rolled up or as an awning, but we might if the weather was better.

Living room size is great - fine for a weekend, but where we normally store our clothes in the inners there wasn't room to do this so it did feel cluttered.

It is a VERY tall tent, so good for tall people, and even the bedroom is tall enough at the front to stand up in.

The colour is VERY pale - so its very light inside, and somehow you feel like people can see in even though they can't.

We did suffer a few tiny puddles on the floor - not sure if it was condensation under the bedroom, we know that one was from the window area - but not sure if its cos we left it 'open' or if it needs some seam sealant. The inners were touching the flysheet in several places when we woke up and felt wet to touch (but didn't drip on us) - but we are not sure if we had perhaps pitched in badly.

That being said - it rained steadily for about 12 hours and we stayed dry.

All in all, an excellent weekend tent for a family of 4 - quick to pitch, and large enough for rainy days.

The StarCamper 5, come in this great Retro design with mocha swirl to give it a unique look. It is great value for such a technical tent. The sleeping area is one full section, with divider. It all goes, comfortably, into a easy fit bag for quick pack up and is very light for its size, weighing only 13.00kg. It is a good size 5 man tent with a total length of 5.30 metres and width of 3.10 metres on the outer. The sleeping area
